Girly tattoos can be fun, and they can be very sexy. A lot of girls get girly tattoos because they want to express an inner feeling or thought in an artistic way, a subtle way that can be shown to all passersby.

A lot of men find girls with girly tattoos to be sexy and interesting to them, for getting a tattoo, especially as for a girl it can indicate a wild, sensual spirit and a sense of adventure.

But the reality of it is, girly tattoos no longer need to be girly.

A lot of girls who get tattoos, get them in intimate areas--that is, they get them in places that aren't normally seen by most other people, although if they walk a summer beach in a bikini, they can be seen. The women who get these kinds of tattoos want them to be primarily for their husband or lovers to see, and the tattoo gives her a quiet, private sense of creativity or passion.

Traditionally, girly tattoos have been in these places on the body--the small of the back, the ankle, the upper thigh, the breast, the lower tummy, and such places.

But these days, women are engaging in more daring tattoo exploits and expressions. Some men really like this, while others can be put off by it, as a girl with a lot of showy tattoos may be taken as being from the "wrong side of the tracks", even if she's really very sweet and holds down a great job. But the men who find these tattoos attractive look upon these women as female rock stars, or they appreciate women who are into "guy stuff" like big tattoos (or motorcycle maintenance, or home construction, or heavy metal music). At any rate , this is a growing trend among women.

So, if you're a woman considering tattoos for the first time, you shouldn't feel that you necessarily "are supposed to" stay with the traditional hard-to-find areas of the body or stay with small, discreet images. You can feel free to get yourself all kinds of tattoos, and these might include dragon-headed serpents writing all the way up and down your arms, fantastic flowering vines that drape all over your back, even "guy tattoos" like the arm-encircling razor wire or the neck torques. Also, if you get tattoos in some of the more intimate bodily areas like your breasts, you can feel free to get them across their tops so that they easily show.

What girly tattoos you get, and if you even decide to get them, depends on your personality and what you want to express. Tattoos should be individualized expressions; they should not be gotten if you're just trying to be part of the crowd, for then they lose their value and authenticity.

But again, these days, girly tattoos don't have to be girly, just like you don't have to throw like a girl just because you are one...
