How To Choose The Right Tattoo Designs For You
Tattoo designs can be made to nearly unlimited specifications, as long as they'll fit on your body. People have had every known and conceivable part of the human anatomy tattooed--including their private parts, their tongues, and the insides of their eyelids !

Since there's such a plethora of possible and pre-created tattoo designs out there, there are some things you'll want to think about before you set about choosing from them.

Start off searching on the internet for ideas. This will save you a great deal of time and trouble...but you have to already have a decent idea of the kind of thing you're looking for first, because otherwise, you'll take forever and a year to go through all the galleries. You need to begin with a general working idea or template, so that you don't wind up staring at every design that the information superhighway drives across your field of view.

Also, that working idea needs to come from within yourself. Forget all about trendy or popular tattoo designs.
A tattoo is permanent, so it has to be timeless enough to have meaning for you for the rest of your life.

When you are actually going to the tattoo parlor, choose one that's close to where you live and check its reputation. Visit it first and talk to the artisan or owner. How long has he done this? Does he have any customers you could contact to check him out before you commit your money and your skin? Is his equipment full and state-of-the-art?

Also, check out his personal portfolio for more tattoo ideas. Talk to him about what you're looking for and see what he can sketch out for you. He might be able to customize something you've never seen the likes of before.

See if there are any temporary tattoos that are similar to what you're looking for. You can "try out" a tattoo design with these. Sometimes it's hard to know how a tattoo is going to look on your body until it's actually on your body, and you don't want to be disappointed.

Choose tattoo coloration that goes with your skin tone or hair and eyes (or all three). If you are very fair-skinned, you may not look the best with a tattoo that features gold lettering. But a darkly-colored tattoo would look beautiful on you.

Consider whether or not you have sensitive skin or skin allergies; if you do, mention it to the guy you've chosen to do your tattoo. You may just have to live your life without a tattoo if your condition is too severe.

Research health and safety issues about getting a tattoo first, then, make sure your chosen tattoo artist knows all about these issues, too.

There's a lot to consider when choosing from different tattoo designs. Make sure you are an informed consumer before you go under the needle.
